How It Works

Brainsway Deep TMS generates electrical stimulation of the brain. A helmet containing a specially designed coil is placed over the head and produces a brief electrical field at an intensity similar to that of MRI. The electrical stimulation is painless, but affects neurons in the brain. Deep TMS stimulates deep brain structures; according to studies, deep brain structures have more connections with the reward system, so that deep stimulation can generate effective results. During the session, the patient is seated in a comfortable chair, remains alert and awake, and can communicate with the caregiver regularly. After the session, patients can drive themselves home and return to their normal day-to-day activities.
